Nomination for Mr Duncan Cowles, owner BOI Bakeries, Kawakawa Northland.

On behalf of the people who make up the community of Kawakawa and the surrounding district I would like to nominate Duncan Cowles as a nominee to receive one of your special flights. Duncan owns the local bakery in our awesome little town. Now Duncan is not into material things and is the most humble person I know. His generous contributions to the schools, sporting clubs, elderly and any needy organisation in out community goes way beyond that of what one would expect from any individual. Duncan doesn’t have a lot materially, some reading this will say hold on he owns a business and yes they would be quite right but if every business owner did for their community what Duncan does we would be a much richer society. School lunches purchased from his bakery are at greatly reduced rates, items for fundraising are donated and believe me we are one of the larger schools in our area and fundraising for camps and such require a large amount of donations. The children at our school and in fact many of the other local schools would not enjoy as regularly the many outdoor education experiences that they do without the very generous donations of Duncan and his family. A more deserving recipient you could not find. Please find it in your heart to support this truly exceptional Kiwi.
