What are the grabbies?

As New Zealand’s only truly Kiwi airline, we want to show what makes us special by giving away 500 return $1 airfares to kiwis making a difference in our lives.

You can nominate or vote for those inspirational kiwis making a difference in your life and the lives of your friends and family. They may be people in your community, at work, at school, in your church or social group.

What's the prize?

The 250 inspirational kiwis who receive the most votes will earn $1 return airfares for themselves and a companion to travel within New Zealand. They can choose to travel to any of our 26 dometic destinations.

I would like to nominate my husband, Colin

Hi, I would like to nominate my husband, Colin,

He is awesome in every way. In our years together he has supported me through the sudden death of 2 close friends, through my Dad's heart surgery, and my Mum's diagnosis of cancer. When my Mum was dying, he took time off work, to look after our 3 young boys (who were 5 months, 2 years and 6 years at the time), so I could stay with Mum and Dad, and help look after her. Five months before Mum died, our youngest son was born early with lungs that would not function. During his 3 week stay in Hospital he had numerous lines, chest drains, was ventilated, etc. Colin took this time off work to look after our other 2 boys. This included bringing himself, Thomas and Nicholas down to Wellington when Alex got flown down there for treatment. This was awesome, as we were all able to be together as a family at a very difficult time. It was during this time of Alexs' hospitalisation, that we found out the Mum was terminal with her cancer.

Colin is a wonderful husband and the most awesome Dad our boys could ever wish for.

His support is always there and unwavering. I would love for him to be given the gift of the grabbies, as to our family and the people that know and love him he is a true inspirational kiwi.
