I would like to Nominate my Uncle Gafa.

At 58, he is still working tirelessly to support our family which consists of: His mother, who is 88 years old and suffering from Advancing Alzheimers; my mother (his sister) who has been suffering from schizophrenia for the best part of 16 years; his daughter who made many mistakes at a young age resulting in a huge debt that she (and he) has been paying off; and myself, studying full time towards a bachelor of science and working 30 hours per week.
Uncle Gafa also supports his 29 year old son who has a problem with alcohol. He will always pick up his son from where ever he calls from, no matter the distance, and drop him off at home. He also supports his many nieces and nephews whenever they require it, and drives ladies from the church around whenever they need to.
As the eldest son of 7 kids, Gafa passed up the chance at a high-school education to work and help his parents pay their bills. At 25, he was injured in Samoa while working with a logging company – an accident that left him with a slight limp and a multitude of metal plates and rods in his legs. Yet despite all of this he refuses to live on a benefit and cannot stand the thought of being a couch potato.
If anything I just feel my uncle is very deserving of a trip. It’s not the lotto, so I know it won’t pay off his outstanding debt or buy my family our first home, but it would at least give him a well-deserved break from all the hustle and bustle that he encounters from day to day.
He is truly my inspiration, he never fails to help me or my mother out when we need it, even if it puts him out of pocket. He has taught me the true values of saving, family and working hard. He Rocks!
