I would like to nominate Lance Woods the year 8 teacher at Green Island School.Lance puts in that much needed extra effort with children who are stuggling to succeed acdemically. Lance shows paitence, tolerance and understanding towards all children but is especially gifted at finding each childs positive attributes and using this as a building block for these children to start from. By acknowleging just one strength in these children and helping them to use this as a base for more success he enables children to grow both acedemically and emotionaly and inspires them to be well adjusted young people who are passionate about their futures and becoming valuable members of our society.Lance has a lovely wife and two young children of his own and I'm sure all the extra time and energy he puts into the children of Green Island School is only possible through their support at home, so I think he and his family are very deserving of a nice holiday together to recharge his batteries- because we need him to keep on doing the amazing work he is with our childen.
