I am nominating my Mum, Lynette, because she is always working, and a well deserved break is just what she needs. My Mum works five days a week, 9am - 3pm at the local kohanga reo. Before and after work at the kohanga reo, she babysits my 11 year old son and my seven month old niece, so that me and my sister can pursue our chosen careers. My Mum also works Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays as the Bar Manager at the local golf club. Although she is paid for this job, it is a thankless role, and often requires extra hours beyond what she is paid for. My Mum will also look after her five grandchildren over the school holidays, having them stay over whenever they like. Her support over the years is undeniable. In addition to all of the above, my Mum has always looked after and cared for my father, and very recently, he was diagnosed with cancer. He underwent a serious operation to remove the cancerous cells, and is about to embark on a treatment of radiotherapy. I have no doubts that my Mum will continue to work throughout this period, while at the same time looking after our children, and having the additional burden of a sick husband. So give my mum a break and give her a wonderful holiday!
