Mum Sue

An old fashioned hard working mum. There are some amazing stories here about the differentparents/family/friends/loved ones and I would like to add one, I wantto nominate my mum Sue.What differates mum from the other people here? She’s an impressiveperson from the old school, having moved here 20 years ago she hasworked her "butt" off to provide for our family. Our family has beenher main priority from ensuring everyone is fed to helping out withextra uni costs or any family emergency.This may not separate her, but what does is the passion she hastowards her family and how this passion has overcome culturalbarriers as well as severe health issues - from giving it all up tomove here (NZ) to allow her kids to grow up in a safer country, toselling hand made clothing at the markets 20 years ago to help usthrough school and give the family some spending money.Even as we become adults, she continues working hard ignoring ourpleas to relax, to help us move onto the next stage of our life andsave the required deposit for a house - against our wishes, she feelslike it is her obligation to do her best to help us get ahead of life.I know that mum won’t like the fuss of winning a competition or timeoff work - even though she should relax, it’s not the way of the oldschool. To sum up my mum, she will take more enjoyment from readingthese words then she will from winning the flights - it’s the simplethings which make her happy.
