What are the grabbies?

As New Zealand’s only truly Kiwi airline, we want to show what makes us special by giving away 500 return $1 airfares to kiwis making a difference in our lives.

You can nominate or vote for those inspirational kiwis making a difference in your life and the lives of your friends and family. They may be people in your community, at work, at school, in your church or social group.

What's the prize?

The 250 inspirational kiwis who receive the most votes will earn $1 return airfares for themselves and a companion to travel within New Zealand. They can choose to travel to any of our 26 dometic destinations.

Nominations are now closed. Thank you for sending us your inspirational stories. Entries and votes will be validated and we will be contacting the lucky winners next week. Check back on the grabaseat site next week to see the list of winners.

my Mother, Helen Cudd.

Vote for Helen
My nomination is not only for a SUPPORTIVE Mother but a LOYAL Friend also. My nomination is for my Mother, Helen Cudd.

My mother has had an exceptionally hard life. From a turbulent chilhood to an even more dramatic adulthood. Regardless of these obstacle she has remained a pillar for both my family and the community also.

My mother has sacrificed MUCH for the sake of me and my siblings. She particularly sacrificed alot for me and my younger brother, uprooting the family to give us a greater education and more opportunites in general. All the while dealing with the loss of a husband, the financial difficulty of widowhood and the lonliness of leaving home.

My mother devoted her life to me and my siblings. Now that we have all left home she can concentrate on herself. But its not that easy starting from the bottom again (Raising eleven children isn't a degree - Although it should be!). At present, she works TWO jobs and still looks after the family!

I owe alot to my mother. A holiday is the least I can do for her!

P.s. I only had so many words and these few sentnce don't even touch the surface of her contributions and selflessness in life in general!! I have watched her time and time again give (Time, money and emotional support) so that others might be better off.
