Sammy Bronnimann, the greatest little brother

My eldest son, Reuben, has nominated me and in turn I'd like to nominate my middle son, Sammy. He's 9. You see, his other brother Zane has many problems, and has just had his 21st surgery. Zane is only 11, so as you can imagine we have spent a LOT of time away from home, and we have done a LOT of traveling to different hospitals.

Although these trips away are either really hard work, scary, painful or just downright boring for Zane, Sammy just gets to watch Zane fly off somewhere again, receive get well gifts, hear about his cool visitors at the hospitals and see all the attention Zane gets. Its hard for Sammy not to feel left out

However! Sammy is really supportive of Zane though and looks after him, helps him out and is the greatest buddy we could ever wish for. He also brightens my day when things are tough because he is so cheerful and deeply caring.

Sammy could sure do with some quality alone time with Mum or Dad. He has a strong interest in travel, places, history and culture so it would be very cool to take him somewhere he hasnt been, maybe the South Island or even the far north.
Sammy puts up with a lot, its hard having a brother with special needs, and while Sammy in his own right shines like the sun, in some ways he always lives in his brothers shadow.
