Trudy White, Positive Beam of Light

I’d like to nominate my Mum, Trudy White for the grabbies $1 flight (and I think we all should be nominating our Mothers!)

My Mum is the most positive, upbeat, energetic Lady I know and she always makes me feel better after talking to her. Why so special? She has Polio and has lived with it for most of her life. This means one of her legs is about 10cm shorter than the other and she wears a caliper to walk. All my life I’ve walked down the street with her as she’s held her head high while people have gawked at her. She has worked all her life, and never used it to get sympathy or money from anyone. Occasionally, when I may have hurt myself and had to deal with a little ache or pain for awhile, I’ve realized that this is what she lives with everyday…. And she’s still one of the chirpiest people I know. She’s not let it slow her down or make her grumpy and for that she’s one of the most inspirational kiwis I know.
