Vote for Sue
Sue oozes music. She has brought joy to many people in our area by sharing her enthusiasm and talent with others, some of whom might have thought of themselves as being "rhythmically challenged" :-) She has helped to alter the musical landscape and dreams for those of us who are scattered about a rural community, well beyond the scope of most formal music teachers.
Sue volunteers as part of Spootiskerry Spraoi, a band that has both locals and visitors tapping and dancing at a ceili on the 3rd Sat. of each month up in Mangonui.
When my partner broke her foot about 18 months ago, Sue offered to teach Dee recorder while she was housebound. This has grown into a group of ten that meets weekly, playing bass, tenor, alto and soprano recorders. Riehle's Recorders Rock & Rule! While all of us are well beyond the first flush of youth, Sue has inspired and encouraged us way beyond our own expectations, all for nothing more than the love of music, good company and lots of laughter.
Sue has also founded Saltarello, a music group with amateur musicians from south of Kerikeri, north to Doubtless Bay. We play music from the 14-16th centuries, in full costume. This is quite a unique musical venture for New Zealand's Far North!
For the hours and money she has spent driving, bringing music far and wide, Sue more than deserves to be a $1 Grabbie '08. She is certainly an inspiration to many :-)

Sue wants to pursue a Master of Arts degree in music. This special fare can help her to accomplish that.
Sue's warm generosity and inspiration in sharing her wonderful musical gifts has greatly enriched my life in the past year. It is good to have the opportunity to acknowledge her and say thank you.
Sue is a wonderfully generous person with her time, coming to my school to give the children a concert and offering more.
go sue
Sue has a huge support base of people who wish her, her family and friends well.
Wow what can I say.Sue has really enriched my retirement with her music.I joined the recorder group not having played since school and now I.m nearing 70 it.s wonderful what she has achieved with us all.the fun music and laughter abounds. The ceilli band she plays in gives delight and focus to many in this area.Richly deserves this grabaseat deal..
Thank you Sue.
Sue is a wonderful musical coach who enables people to focus on the possibilities rather than the obstacles. For example, neither partial deafness, missing part of a finger, or the feeling that you are musically-challenged are reasons not to give the recorder a go and become a functioning part of a recorder ensemble! Thank you for sowing the seeds, Sue, and for nurturing us with such patience and good humour.
Sue has freely given so much musical time and energy to our little community. I wholeheartedly support Fiona's sentiments and feel that Sue deserves a Grabbie.
