Tony is one of the major forces behind Poverty Bay Hockey's quest for an Astroturf to improve the quality of game in our region. He gives up so much of his own time to prepare and do the radio and newspaper reports as well as being a popular referee for major games. Somehow, he still finds time in his already hectic schedule to be a player/manager for his own team and find sponsorship for his wife Penny's team
Another example of Tony's dedication to the community is he was involved in the e-day here in Gisborne which involved recycling electronic equipment and packaging it all up to be sent to Korea. It was run over 2 days and he spent both days emptying peoples cars of the computer equipment and stacking them in the containers.
It is not uncommon for people to ring him or call in at his house at all hours of the night to get advice and assistance with their personal computer problems- he welcomes them into his home and helps them as best he can.
Tony has a heart of gold and would do anything for his friends and community... it would be really great if once someone could do something nice for him to show appreciation for his efforts.
