I would like to nominate a colleague and dear friend of mine, Ngaire. Ngaire is a single Mum and works at our youth service as an administrator. Even though Ngaire’s role is not client-based, the aroha, compassion and dedication she shows to our Rangatahi is truly inspiring. Ngaire goes above and beyond to ensure that the Young People who access our service are taken care of, and is always available to help out at events, such as our recent youth event held in Hamilton promoting Mental Health Awareness week – showing her multiple talents by singing and dancing on stage as part of our entertainment! Ngaire is dedicated to her daughter, and does an admirable job of juggling full time employment with being there for her daughter – as well as another part-time job that takes up weekends and evenings, assisting our people to access the traditional maori art form of taa moko. Ngaire loves to travel, and most of her whanau live in the South Island, so it would be fantastic if Ngaire could have the opportunity to see her whanau again, without the huge expense that goes along with that.
